Adidas NBA Revolution 30 – Official adidas NBA jerseys available to UK fans for the first time

With the announcement that London will, for the first time, host NBA league fixtures, basketball is becoming ever more popular in the UK aided by the glamour and phenomenal athleticism associated with the sport. This week, basketball fans in the UK can get in on the act when the adidas NBA Revolution 30 range goes on sale, bringing official adidas NBA apparel, such as the iconic Chicago Bulls and LA Lakers shirts, to UK fans for the first time.

adidas worked with the NBA for four years to test the uniform and ensure that the adidas NBA Revolution 30 strips represent the lightest and most technologically advanced basketball uniforms in the history of the game. The availability of the adidas NBA Revolution 30 range at UK retail for the first time gives fans access to the authentic on-court kit worn by all 450+ NBA players and all 30 NBA teams for the 2010-11 season onwards.

The adidas NBA Revolution 30 range went on sale on the 1st October, just days before the NBA comes to London’s O2 venue where the LA Lakers will take on the Minnesota Timberwolves on the 4th October in front of a sell-out crowd as part of NBA Europe Live. adidas NBA Revolution 30 jerseys will be available for fans to buy at the O2 on the night and from the flagship adidas performance store on Oxford Street as well as adidas performance stores around the UK and selected JJB, Sports Direct and JD Sports outlets.

Designed and developed by adidas, the new uniforms are 30 percent lighter and, as a result of adidas CLIMACOOL fabrics, absorb moisture in less than three seconds, ensuring that they dry twice as fast as previous NBA uniforms. The technically advanced fabric moves heat and sweat away from the body through a combination of moisture management materials, ventilation channels and three dimensional garments, helping to enhance player performance by keeping athletes cooler, drier and more comfortable on the court.

“The new uniforms are the most comfortable I’ve ever worn,” said NBA All-Star Dwight Howard. “When I’m on the court, I’m 100 percent focused on the game and I don’t want to worry about getting too hot or uncomfortable. I’m a big guy but I play fast too, so feeling lighter on the court helps me do the things I do even better.”

As well as being made from 60 percent recycled materials, the new range features adidas’ Formotion technology which reduces seams, decreases friction between the garment and the player’s skin and optimizes the athlete’s natural movement through specially constructed material.
